Greer on Thatcher

Amid the mountain of guff being written on the 30th anniversary of Margaret Thatcher becoming PM, Germaine Greer's piece in the Guardian a couple of Saturdays ago really stands out. Greer so effortlessly out-smarts most of the full-time political commentariat, it's almost embarrassing.

A text from a mate of mine about the piece is worth reproducing:

Among a myriad of of fine points, she wrote the best analysis of Thatcher's human failings I have ever seen: 1. Lack of reading. 2. Lack of imagination. 3. Lack of insight. 4. Lack of humour. That, my friend, is utter perfection.
