Sleepwalking to disaster?

In our family we have, in recent years, developed a tradition of providing crossword-style clues on our presents. For example, my sis gave me a Boston RedSox-themed Martini set - two glasses and a shaker. The clue was

Small Spanish Sea (7)

Mar (Spanish for Sea) - tiny. Geddit? But my Dad failed to get

Preferred mode of transport into disaster (9)

The answer is Sleepwalk. I said 'sleepwalking to disaster' was a minor political cliché, used to refer to the build-up to the Iraq war, perhaps, or the causes of the economic crisis. Maybe it was a bit too obscure: Google yielded only 61,000 hits.

Incidentally, the latter clue was for Glasgow DJ duo Optimo's new Sleepwalk mix.

I got JD Twitch (of Optimo fame)'s Ten Inches of Fear compo, a mix of Crass Records stuff from the mid to late '80s. Ten inch plus CD. Niiiice.
